*Due to the restrictions concerning Covid-19 we can unfortunately no longer physically receive you in one of our Datacenters. In case you are still intrested to take a look behind the scenes, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your preferred time and location. We will then schedule a virtual tour. *
On Tuesday, November 9, the annual National Data Center Day takes place. During this day, data centers throughout the Netherlands open their doors to the general public, to offer interested parties a peek behind the scenes of the Internet. We, Dataplace, will do the tour virtually.
Why data centers matter.
Digitization plays a role in almost every development and challenge in the world. The corona crisis is a graphic example of this. In the Netherlands, the transition to digital working and learning went almost without a hitch thanks to the quality of the digital infrastructure. It is expected that also post-corona a lot of work will be done from home, which will lead to less congestion on the roads and less CO2 emissions from traffic.
The digital economy brings benefits, but it also comes with challenges and responsibilities. Indeed, the 21st century is not only about digitalization, we also have to deal with the energy transition and the climate crisis.
The theme for this edition of National Data Center Day is therefore: 'the new economy is digital, sustainable and has a healthy growth'. We look forward to inviting you for a tour of our data center. During this tour we would like to tell you about our vision of the new economy and show you what we are already doing - and what we will be doing - to contribute to the digital, sustainable society of the future.
